I’m speaking to an old version of myself though in the song it seems like a literal person who won’t open up.
It has become hard to get back to that version. The current version of myself feels secluded as if it can’t
connect with the past and is begging the old to come back. The old version seems to be much better,
happier, more carefree and open. I remember it and I want it back. We were the same, it shouldn’t be hard
to get back but somehow I still need to beg for it to return.
The music is light and meditative referencing the East African coastal sounds. The haunting melodies and
airy vocals deliver the melancholic lyrics with a touch of nostalgia.
